Message Like others have said, the Z turbos are parallel; one turbo for each 3-cylinder bank. If one turbo went bad, the engine wouldn't run (wouldn't run well, at least) b/c one side would have normal boost and exhaust restriction, while the other would have no boost and increased restriction (from the siezed turbine).

The dual pop charger simply has two pop chargers with one going to each side of the engine (as opposed to the more common single pop, where all the intake air comes through one filter and is then split into each side). Z1/Ash also has the "DOOLZ" dual-intake...which is a slight variation on the JWT Dual Pop that has a crossover point to allow for the airflow to balance between each side. The benefits to having two filters instead of one are obviously to flow more air. However, a single pop can flow quite a bit of air, and unless you are running enough boost to where your engine's airflow demand is exceeding the abilities of the single pop, there is no real benefit to be gained from having a dual intake.

You can search on "turbo failure", "dual pop", "doolz", etc. to come up with a lot more information than I can give.

Hope this helped- Rob
